Injured Reserve 2

Mikail Kamara
Injured Reserve
Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports Kamara suffered a torn ACL. The undrafted free agent out of Indiana will now spend the duration of the 2026 season on IR unless he and the 49ers reach an injury settlement.

Ricky Pearsall
Injured Reserve
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Prem Ramkumar told the San Francisco Chronicle that there's not enough data on similar surgeries to confidently predict whether Pearsall will regain his pre-injury form in 2027. That also explains why rehab estimates have been so broad, with one report suggesting "6-12 months" as the timeline for Pearsall's return. Having undergone surgery in early August, the wideout has 13 months to prepare for Week 1 of 2027 -- right around the time he'll celebrate his 27th birthday.

Out 1

George Kittle
Out
According to Wagoner, it was the most extensive work Kittle has done at practice this summer, as he continues to work his way back from a torn Achilles. Kittle remains on the active/PUP list for San Francisco, but he's continued to say he's on track to play Week 1 against the Rams in 31 days. He'll turn 33 years old in two months but figures to remain a red-zone presence for Brock Purdy. Kittle is no longer a top-tier fantasy tight end, but he should be productive when on the field in an efficient 49ers offense.

Questionable 6

Nick Bosa
Nick Bosa DE Q
Questionable
Bosa avoided the active/PUP list at the start of training camp, but his recovery from the torn ACL that he suffered in Week 3 of last season is ongoing. He's made three or fewer appearances in two of his pro campaigns but played between 14 and 17 regular-season contests in the other five, racking up at least 9.0 sacks in each of them while topping out at 18.5 in 2022.

Osa Odighizuwa
Questionable
Odighizuwa missed Wednesday's practice, but was promptly back in action for Thursday's session. The defensive end reclaimed his snaps with the first-team defense and looks to be over whatever was previously ailing him.
Reported: Aug 06
Kaelon Black
Questionable
Black now is one of three 49ers running backs tending to a health concern -- also, Jordan James (ribs) and Isaac Guerendo (pectoral) -- leaving Patrick Taylor, Sincere McCormick and Khalil Herbert to handle reps behind No. 1 option Christian McCaffrey. A third-round pick in this year's draft, Black will have a prime chance to compete for the direct backup role once he's healthy, especially since James is out indefinitely with fractured ribs.
Reported: Aug 03
Christian Kirk
Questionable
With Ricky Pearsall (knee, IR) out for the season, Kirk is a candidate to be involved early and often in the 49ers' passing game in his first season with the club, but a calf injury has kept him out of drills for nearly two weeks. Fellow WRs Mike Evans (quadriceps) and Jacob Cowing (hip) also sat out Saturday, so the current top healthy options at the position are Deebo Samuel, rookie second-rounder De'Zhaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Watkins.

De'Zhaun Stribling
Questionable
It's an encouraging sign for the rookie second-rounder, whose practice reps have been limited this past week while he's been recovering from a hamstring injury. With Ricky Pearsall (knee) out for the 2026 season, Stribling will have the opportunity to earn a consistent role for himself in the 49ers' offense, even with veterans Mike Evans (quad), Deebo Samuel and Christian Kirk (calf) ahead of him on the wide receiver depth chart. The absences of both Evans and Kirk give Stribling the chance to showcase his skills with the first-team offense alongside Samuel.

Mike Evans
Mike Evans WR Q
Questionable
Evans has been sidelined since last Monday due to a strained quad, but the 49ers have downplayed the injury all along. After a week off, he appears poised to mix back in Tuesday. Considering the cautious approach the team has taken with Evans, he may not have received clearance for all drills, and it remains to be seen if he'll be allowed to suit up for Thursday's preseason game.
